• What is Auto Seat Assignment?

  If you choose not to purchase a seat for your booking, your seat will be randomly assigned to you free of charge during the check-in process, between 24 hours and 2 hours prior to departure.

• Can I purchase a Hot Seat / Standard Seat after I have completed my flight booking?

  Yes. Pick-A-Seat can be purchase up to 4 hours prior to schedule time of departure via Purchases and any of AirAsia sales counters.

• I do not wish to reserve a seat. Can I still sit beside my travel companions?

  We highly recommend that you reserve your seat when booking or during checking in to guarantee a seat beside your travel companions. If you choose not to purchase a seat, then a seat will be randomly allocated to you free of charge when checking in, but it is unlikely it will be beside your travel companions.

• I am travelling with a child below 12 years old. Will my child be seated together with me?

  For safety reasons, children under the age of 12 must sit beside an accompanying adult, and infants (aged 9 days to 23 months inclusive) must sit on an accompanying adult’s lap. We recommend that you reserve your seat when booking or when checking in to guarantee that your child will be seated together with you with a fee applied.

• I wish to purchase a seat at the emergency exit, is there anything I need to take note?

  Yes. Guests who wish to sit in the seats by the emergency exit must be physically capable of carrying out the associated responsibilities. Hence, you need to ensure you are meet all the following criteria: ✅ Physically and mentally fit to assist crew in an emergency ✅ Capable of understanding printed/spoken emergency instructions ✅ 15 years old and above ✅ Not in any stage of pregnancy ✅ Not travelling with infants ✅ Did not purchase an extra seat AirAsia reserves the right to move guests or assign a new seat at check-in or onboard if he/she does not comply with these safety and security regulations, upon which, the fee paid by the guest is non-refundable.
