For domestic flights within Peninsular Malaysia, you will need to show proof of your double dose digital vaccination certificate. As a responsible traveller, you are also encouraged to perform a Covid-19 self test before leaving for the airport. Self test kits are also available for purchase at the airport. Certain destinations may require proof of a Covid-19 negative result of a RT-PCR or RTK antigen test. This requirement may change from time to time so you are advised to check with the relevant authorities for the latest updates.

You are required to upload your double dose digital vaccination certificate during a mandatory self check-in online process via the AirAsia MOVE, which is integrated with the vaccination records on MySejahtera. If you have been fully vaccinated and have passed the vaccination maturity period, but yet to receive your full digital vaccination certificate, you may verify your vaccination status by presenting your MySejahtera app and physical vaccination card at the airport.

For flights to Sabah, apart from being fully vaccinated against Covid-19, all guests (including Sabah citizens) are required to present a negative Covid-19 RT-PCR or RTK-Ag test result that is valid for 3 days prior to departure, before being accepted for boarding.

Travellers 12-18 years old must have received at least one dose of the two-dose Covid-19 vaccine, and children under the age of 12 to be accompanied by fully vaccinated parents or guardians.

For non-Malaysians, those allowed conditional entry are spouses or dependents of Sabahans, permanent residents of Sabah, essential service workers and their dependents, visiting investors under invitation by the state government, temporary pass holders, Malaysia My Second Home - Sabah visa holders and higher learning institute students who meet the requirements.

For flights to Sarawak, guests are required to provide proof of full vaccination and have a “low risk” or “casual contact no symptom” status on their MySejahtera app before boarding, declare their health status via the e-Health Declaration Form and submit EnterSarawak application (for non-Sarawakians).

If you test positive for Covid-19, you should not be flying to avoid infecting others that you may come in contact with throughout your journey.

Any guest with a valid booking and who is tested positive for Covid-19 before departure will be issued a Credit Account.

If you wish to change your flight date voluntarily, you have the option to move your flight on the same route until 30 November 2021 (with departure date no later than 3 November 2021) without additional cost and subject to seat availability.

Providing a digital and seamless end-to-end travel experience is one of our top safety and hygiene priorities. As such, there is no need to print your boarding pass as all airports in Malaysia accept the e-Boarding pass. Guests are to use the contactless kiosks available at the airport to print their luggage tags and then drop off their luggage at the self bag drop. You are also encouraged to register for FACES via your AirAsia MOVE that will allow you contactless boarding via facial recognition technology.

Guests below the age of 18 who are unvaccinated or partially vaccinated are allowed to travel with their parents/guardians who are fully vaccinated. As responsible travellers, guests are encouraged to perform self tests for Covid-19 and refrain from travelling should the result turn positive.

To minimise physical contact and crowding at the terminal, it is now mandatory for all guests to perform self check-in via the AirAsia MOVE which is super easy and allows for fast verification of vaccination and health documents. Check-in at the counter is ONLY available for guests with reduced mobility, guests travelling with an infant (under 24 months of age), and young guests travelling alone. A counter check in fee may apply to other guests who do not check in via the Superapp.

You are advised to arrive at the airport preferably 3 hours before departure in order to facilitate all necessary check-in and embarkation processes.

Yes. All guests must wear their face masks properly the entire time they are at the airport, including at check-in, security checks and baggage collection.

Yes. All guests must wear a face mask for the entire duration of the flight except only when eating and drinking. Regular 3-ply masks are permitted and guests may do double-masking with a fabric mask for better protection if they wish. Please be advised that wearing a face mask with an open valve is not permitted on AirAsia flights.

Yes, but you are only permitted to consume food and drinks purchased on-board to ensure that we observe the highest hygiene standards. All meals served onboard AirAsia follow strict food safety standards before they are served to guests.

Yes. As part of our strict safety policy, all AirAsia flights are operated only by pilots and cabin crew who are fully vaccinated. This also applies to all ground staff at the terminal including baggage handlers.

Yes. All AirAsia cabin crew are well trained to assist with any medical situation that may take place inflight, including identifying and isolating guests who may be unwell.

Yes. All AirAsia aircraft are cleaned and sanitised before and after each flight. Furthermore, during every night stop, the aircraft goes through a thorough 2-hour deep cleaning process in compliance with the aircraft manufacturer and instructions from the local health authorities.

Safety is our priority and we are complying with all the SOPs as stipulated by the National Security Council (MKN) including one that allows scheduled and unscheduled flight services including general aviation to operate at full capacity. Moreover, in line with the international standards and guidelines of the International Air Transport Association (IATA), the cabin itself provides protections within the layout and systems such as the physical barrier of seat backs, no face to face seating positions, the direction of airflow from ceiling to floor reduces forward and aft movement of air and the installation of HEPA filters to ensure the highest possible quality of air throughout your flight. We can assure that aircraft cabins have now become amongst the cleanest and most hygienic spaces, presenting an almost zero risk of infection to guests and crew.
