Here are some of the safety measures AirAsia is taking on the ground and in the air to minimize the risks concerned with COVID-19

Where we fly

AirAsia flies to the following domestic destinations in the Philippines: Cebu, Davao, Iloilo, Tacloban, Cagayan De Oro, Bacolod, Caticlan, Puerto Princesa, Bohol, Kalibo, General Santos, and Zamboanga. AirAsia will continuously add frequency to routes, and more destinations as approved by the local and national government.

All passengers are advised to timely check their e-mail notifications for any changes.

MARCH FLIGHT SCHEDULE

Pre-Flight

1. Check your eligibility to travel. Obtain the necessary travel approvals and documents.

2. Book your flight on airasia.com or on the airasia mobile app. Make sure to pre-book your baggage and hot meals.

3. Check-in at home through airasia.com or on the airasia mobile app, 14 days to an hour before your scheduled departure. *subject to local regulations

4. Arrive at the airport at least 3 hours before your departure. Make sure to wear face mask and face shield; bring your own hand sanitizer as well.

AT THE AIRPORT

1. Clear immigration and security checkpoints.

2. Checked-in guests may print their boarding passes and baggage tags using airasia’s contactless check-in kiosks. Simply follow the steps indicated on the screen.

3. Attach the baggage tag to your luggage and proceed to the Self Bag-Drop or Bag Drop counters.

4. Guests that have not checked-in may use the kiosk to do so.
*airasia’s contactless check-in kiosks are available for use in selected airports only. Counter check-in fees may apply in selected airports.

5. Proceed to the boarding gate for thermal scanning. Practice physical distancing before boarding.

ON-BOARD

1. Make sure to wear your face mask and face shield, and frequently sanitize your hands.

2. Upon arrival on the destination, undergo mandatory health screening before proceeding to the baggage claim area.

TRAZE

Effective November 28, 2020, all airport passengers are required to download and register an account on the Traze Contact Tracing app prior entering the airport premises.

Guests are advised to check government restrictions and regulations, as well as their registered e-mail upon booking for timely notifications from AirAsia.

AirAsia is complying with the protocols and regulations set by the local government, as well as aviation authorities, to ensure that flights proceed as scheduled. Guests are advised to comply and strictly follow health and safety protocols.

In the Philippines, authorities require the use of face mask and face shield in workplaces and in all modes of public transportation. AT THE CHECK-IN COUNTER

GROUND OPERATIONS

  • Floor markings at check-in counter
  • Acrylic barrier to protect check-in agent
  • Social/physical distancing among passengers
  • Passengers comply with Passenger Locator Form
  • Check-in agent wearing required PPE

FLIGHT CREW

  • Wash hands regularly and use hand sanitizer before and after In-flight service, after cleaning the toilet and rubbish collections
  • Wear gloves when collecting rubbish and try to avoid touching items handed by the guests, especially used tissues and face masks.
  • Be alert during the flight and look for signs and symptoms that a guest might be sick
  • Take vitamin C and Zinc supplements to boost immune system
  • Washing of hands often and wipe surfaces clean before eating
